Your guide will escort you from your hotel to the pick-up point. The drive to Hanyangling Mausoleum will take about 45 minutes. This mausoleum is much more ancient than the Terracotta Soldiers, having been constructed in the 1st century BC during the Han dynasty for the benefit of Emperor Jingdi. It also houses the Emperor’s wife, other clan officials and servants. This mausoleum has only been open for viewing since 2006, and like the other exhibit, only a small portion has been excavated.
As an exclusive feature of this tour group, you will also get access to the archaeological restoration laboratory to learn about the procedure of restoring ancient relics found on the site, and get a live demonstration by a professional archaeologist. You will also get to watch a state-of-the-art, holographic video about the life of Emperor Jingdi.
